Aftercare

Ear Piercing Aftercare

- Pillow hygiene: Change your pillowcase weekly and don’t share pillows while healing.

- Keep it dry: Never go to bed with wet or damp hair. Blow-dry or tie it up — moisture slows healing.

- Hands off: Don’t touch your piercing except when cleaning. If you do, give it a quick saline spray.

- Cleaning: Use sterile saline 3 times a day — morning, mid-day, and before bed.

- Itching: If it feels itchy, scratch your neck or the area around the piercing — not the piercing itself. It’ll take the itch away.

- Health matters: Eat well and get good sleep — your body heals faster.

- No ointments: No Polysporin or creams. If you’re having an issue, do hot water soaks and call me.

Jewellery & Lifestyle

- If a bead falls off, gently squeeze the hoop closed.

- If jewellery comes out, don’t panic — you have up to 2 weeks to come back before it may need re-piercing.

- Headphones can be used with caution — always clean them first.

- Sports players: If a referee asks you to remove jewellery, contact me. I’ve got safe options to protect your piercing during healing.

Daily Habits & Protection

- Sleeping: If you’re a side sleeper, use a travel or piercing pillow (donut pillow) to avoid pressure.

- Phones: Avoid pressing phones against your ear — use speakerphone or earbuds when possible.

- Hair products: Keep hairspray, dyes, dry shampoo, and conditioner away from the piercing. If it gets on, rinse with saline.

- Swimming: Pools and spray parks are fine. Avoid oceans, lakes, and hot tubs while healing.

Healing Times

- Earlobes: 4–6 months

- Cartilage: 9–12 months
